landscape workshop
at Hilights we invest tremendously in the new science of lighting technology and its design tools. we hold interactive workshop sessions where we all ‘play with light’ and familiarise ourselves more with lighting fixtures and their mechanisms, lighting effects, lighting systems and so forth. one of our workshops was held in a tree plantation field where we studied the effect of varying light intensities, beam optics, color temperatures and so forth on the different tree shapes (columnar, conical, oval, spreading trees, etc), tree sizes and colors of their leaves. we also looked into the different light effects achieved by varying the positions of the lighting fixtures with respect to the tree elements. as well, considering the light effects produced if we choose to light certain features of a specific tree. this was a great and beneficial experience that helped us better select the combination of lighting tools for a given tree in our landscape project designs.
